Senior Software Engineer

Metwork ("Metier Technologies") is growing and looking for a senior software engineer with experience to execute various development duties and mentor other developers.

The position's main responsibilities will be centered around the development of a system communication (utilizing message banners, toasts, push notifications, and emails), a component library system, and shared components used by other development teams within the organization. As a senior member of the team, mentoring junior developers and assisting in decision making are also key skills.

A successful senior engineer must demonstrate creativity and willingness to solve difficult problems, have the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, possess excellent communication skills, strong analytical skills, and be disciplined at keeping up with deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Completing stories each sprint and owning your code.
• Reviewing pull requests for accuracy and functionality providing thorough feedback to members of your team.
• Contributing your own ideas and advocating for them.
• Understanding the goal of each sprint and working with members of the larger engineering department to get our collective results finished on time.
• Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and technology developments.
• Volunteering for pair programming especially for junior members.

Experience:

• 6+ years of experience in the field.
• Extensive knowledge of developing a software product.
• Strong knowledge of user interfaces and building component-based designs.
• Strong knowledge of semantic HTML and CSS, including custom properties, variables, mixins, and selectors.
• Experience with multiple front-end frameworks like Vue, Angular, React, Svelte, etc.
• Backend experience with relevant AWS tools and writing Lambda functions for the creation of app notification systems.
• Good understanding of notification architectures that are scalable.
• Knowledge of Lit and/or web components is a plus.
• Knowledge of SendGrid or comparable email service APIs is strongly preferred.
• Thorough understanding of Storybook and writing component stories.
